Happy Fridayyyyyyyyy! I have been pretty productive today. I interned 4-10s Mon-Thurs so I had today off. I ended up going into the office all day to get some work done. Not only that, but I was out the door by 6am this morning. I spent the whole day knocking out things on my to-do list. Go me.
I even decided to treat myself to some Starbucks on the way to work
This week I finished my 5th week of my inpatient clinical which means that I only have 3 weeks left. I wish I could say that this rotation is all downhill from here but I haven’t finished my 2 biggest assignments (presentations) yet. The good news is that they are both scheduled and I have started them.
Highs of the week: There are lots! So much so that I need a bulleted list :)
- My mom hemmed my scrub pants last weekend so now none of them drag the floor. They weren’t too too long before but I always felt self conscious that I looked sloppy.
- I have gone through all of my assignments and I feel like I’m really on top of my work. This usually never happens to me. I have had a bad tendency in the past to procrastinate on things until the last minute. I have completed a lot of the work I need to do for this rotation and have a concrete plan for the things I have not yet done.
- I was able to sit in on a Basic Life Support class with one of the other RDs and got certified in CPR and AED from the Red Cross.
Low of the week: I’m starting to feel pessimistic about my lows of the week. It’s like I’m trying to thing of something bad to say! But if I had to pick, I would say that I am still struggling with my confidence talking to patients. The experience is intimidating to me. I try really hard every week to improve on this!
