Last week, we had a great time going to a Keith Urban concert! K and I have been to quite a few country concerts in the past few years but we’ve never seen Keith Urban live. He said that he actually hadn’t been in the QC since 2002 (he actually said, “I was touring with a guy named Kenny Chesney then… wonder whatever happened to him”). Fun stuff.
I was thankful that 1) K and I did not have to sit in traffic for 2 hours just to drive 5 miles to the amphitheater and 2) it did not rain… the weather has been so crappy here lately!
Dustin Lynch started off the show and even though he isn’t too popular, I really enjoyed his music. He is the guy who sings “Cowboys and Angels”.
Little Big Town was the second opening act. I’m going to be honest here and say that they were really boring. We saw them last year and enjoyed their show but this year they sang a lot more slow songs. I really appreciate their talent but seriously, no one wants to listen to a bunch of slow songs when they are sitting in 80 degree heat.
Keith Urban has got to be on of the most underrated artists in country music. He is so insanely talented and his concert was very entertaining!
Something cool was that they had set up a mini stage at the back of the main seating in the amphitheater, so when he played back there he was not too far from us!
By the way, I just wanted to show you that I’m putting my wine sippy cup to good use.

We have 3 more concerts left this summer: Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean and Dierks Bentley/Miranda Lambert. After this summer I think I would rather pick one or two concerts and buy close seats since we will have seen all of the ‘big name’ country artists more than once already.
