It may not feel great if you're ALWAYS hungry or thinking about food. You wish you could just feel full and satisfied so you could enjoy your day without thinking about food!

Here are a few reasons why carb cravings could be happening with your PCOS:

🥗 You're not eating enough. This is very common since you're told that you need to lose weight.

🩸 Insulin resistance. Either it's not being managed or maybe you haven't been properly diagnosed.

🥯 Being too restrictive with carbs. Your body actually needs carbs for energy, you just have to use them efficiently with insulin resistance.

🧁 Or it's just a craving! It's totally okay to satisfy cravings. This can help you feel more satisfied and lessen overeating and binges.

Hands up for my client 🙌🏻

I am so proud of her and all that she has been able to accomplish in just 3️⃣ months of my program. 💕

👉🏼 The topic of food addiction is pretty complex and there are plenty of controversial views on the subject.

When we are taking into consideration human physiology, psychology 🧠, and nutrition science...

It is pretty clear that a big part of feeling this way boils down to the 2️⃣ topics mentioned above ⬆️.

👉🏼 Insulin resistance can cause those intense carb cravings, because your body believes it's not getting the energy it needs.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👉🏼 When you're constantly pursuing intentional weight loss and dieting this can cause rebound binges.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Both of these leads to those feelings of: 💭 obsession around "off-limit" foods 🍩, constantly thinking about those foods, and the impulse to eat past fullness🍫🍫🍫 when given the chance.

You’re so sick of dieting and are initially drawn to the fact Noom states that it is NOT a diet and focuses on helping you to heal your relationship with food.

Sounds amazing right? 🤔

But as soon as you enter in all your information and are given a “plan” you realize it is in fact a diet, labeling food into “red” or bad categories and “green” or good categories 🚦, forcing you to count calories 🧮, and track your weight.📝

What a scam.👈

‼️Not only that, simply counting calories or avoiding certain foods is not going to help you to improve insulin resistance, binge eat less, lower your A1c, and finally start feeling better.‼️

➡️ Improving your insulin resistance looks like pairing carbs with protein, fat, and fiber, decreasing stress, adding in supplements, and so much more.

⚖️ Have you been told that in order to improve your PCOS symptoms you need to lose weight?

Which then forces you down a rabbit 🐰 hole of Googling how to do so.

💻 Google suggests intermittent fasting... so you decide to give it a go. Sticking to that eating window of 12-8 ⏰.

👉🏼 But after a week or so you start to realize that you feel even hungrier. You notice that at night you can't fight off the binges 🍕🍪.

👉🏼 The reason intermittent fasting led to these types of symptoms is because your body needs consistent energy ⚡️ to balance blood sugar and improve insulin resistance ✅.

When you have PCOS, it's important to focus on improving insulin resistance (which is the heart 💗 of most PCOS symptoms) instead of skipping meals (like breakfast! 🥞).
