Winter Wonderland

Hey there!

I’m happy to report that we are surviving Snowpocalypse 2014. I think we’ve gotten 6-7 inches here, which is a lot for an area like Charlotte. I was worried about what would happen in terms of safety and traffic because we aren’t used to getting snow, but it seems like city has done a good job getting the main roads cleared. We are pretty much snowed in, though, since nowhere in our neighborhood has been scraped yet. Maybe the sun will melt some of the snow tomorrow.

All of this snowy weather made me crave some soup for lunch. After scrounging up some random supplies from the fridge, I ended up making some broccoli & cheese soup. K will not touch broccoli with a 10-ft pole so I stuck half of it in the freezer for later.

Work is cancelled again tomorrow so I will be holding down the fort here. At least I’m staying up-to-date on the Olympics coverage
