Good morning! I hope your week has gotten off to a great start I have the day off from work so I’m working on the blog this morning…Follow my blog with Bloglovin. I also have plans for a run, picking up a package from UPS, cleaning, laundry and doing a few meal prep things. Lily also has big plans today… for people-watching.
On to my mileage report from this past week! Here’s how I did working towards my “325 miles” goal:
Monday– 0
Tuesday– 0
Wednesday– Walk/run, 3.33 miles
Thursday– 0
Friday– Bike, 13.4 miles
Saturday– Run/walk on the treadmill, 1.5 miles
Sunday– Bike, 13.54
Mileage for this week: 31.77 miles
Total miles: 183.96
I had a hard time sticking with my routine at the beginning of the week, but I was able to pick things back up this weekend and finished strong. Having a goal I was working towards really motivated me to get outside on Friday and Sunday. I knew if I didn’t then I was going to start falling behind in my miles. The funning thing is that when I was running on Saturday (on the treadmill… blah), I happened to listen to a podcast about staying motivated with your health and fitness. They were talking about how important it is to set a fitness goal so you have something to work towards. So maybe I am on the right path after all
I also wanted to share that I came across this guy on the greenway during my bike ride last night:
Any idea what kind of snake this is? I couldn’t see it very well.
Now that I am halfway through the summer, I’m starting to think of a new things I can try or work towards to keep me staying active this fall. Here are a few things I’m thinking about…
- Riding the Creeper Trail (I’m from Virginia a so I would love to do this)
- Joining the Y to have access to a pool
- Try out trail running at the Whitewater Center
- Registering for a 5K…. there are lots that look fun in the upcoming months!
- Attempting the Ramblin’ Rose triathlon… I would definitely need to start swimming soon if I wanted to do this.
Just a few ideas
My goal this week is to run more than last week. I definitely prefer biking over running so we’ll see how that goes!
I am also reallllly wanting to get a road bike. Why are they so expensive?! I’m keeping my eye out for a used one right now. If anyone in the Charlotte area knows of someone who is looking to sell their road bike then let me know. I’m 5’2 and looking for a small frame. My arms are short and I have had a hard time finding a comfy fit on bikes in the past, but maybe I will get lucky in the ‘used bike’ department.
Well, that’s all for now. Hope you have a good Monday!
