Hey there! Happy Friday!
I wish I could say I’m pumped for the weekend but I’m working. Not that I’m *not* pumped about my job but, well, you know.
So yesterday I got an MRI of my knee, and it was the first time I’ve ever had an MRI before. This was kind of funny to me because I think I read MRI results almost every single day at work. Now I know firsthand how the patients feel.
I was surprised by a few things… the machine was very loud! I thought I would be able to relax and doze off, but I couldn’t sleep over the sounds. That was even with ear plugs.
I also was surprised that I just hopped up on the table wearing my clothes and shoes. For some reason I thought they would make me wear a gown. I think I thought this because I always see patients going down for MRIs wearing gowns. But duh, they are inpatient, so they are wearing a gown anyway.
I had to take off my jewelry but that was it. When the machine started running, the ends of my bra started digging into my chest and I ended up having to take it off right there on the table… good thing I’m not modest, haha. So if you ever get an MRI- don’t wear an underwire bra.
I have an appt on Tuesday to talk about the results with the doc, buttttttttt I am impatient and will probably stop by medical records on my lunch break today to see what, if anything, they found.
The MRI after work made my day pretty long, so it was fun to meet up with my friend Tracy for dinner last night. We went to Twilight Lounge for some Caribbean. Tracy loves spicy food so I knew she would love some of their dishes.
I’m not really sure what got into me, but they have “Trini Thursdays” and I ended up getting a rum and coke. It reminded me of my days at VT I got the same stew chicken that I got the other time K and I tried out Twilight except this time I ordered collard greens as my side.
Everything was great, just like last time. If you are in the Charlotte area and are looking for something different then I highly recommend this restaurant!
I hope you have a great weekend!
I hope all goes well with your results. I’ve never had an MRI either, it would probably freak me out a little.
Thanks. Luckily I only had to go into the machine from the waist down. The sounds would have probably been worse if I was all the way in the machine.
Hope everything turns out okay!
Thanks, Janelle. I got the results back and they were normal :)
