Hey there and happy Mondayyyyyy.
This weekend was fun because we celebrated our anniversary!
I made dinner at home on Friday because K knew he was going to have to work late. We ended up having pork chops with a roll and garden salad. I even busted out the champagne glasses from our wedding (which involved me crawling around our storage area, but thatβs another story).
On Saturday, we had a dinner reservation at Terra. K was in charge of dinner plans and decided to try something new. We usually go to Vivace for special dinners but we both agreed that itβs time to branch out. Charlotte has so many great restaurants.
This was perfect because I went to Sephora earlier that day to use my VIB coupon, and this evening out made me feel completely justified in my purchases.
The restaurant was beautiful and cozy and the staff was very friendly.
I will attempt to recap our meals, although the menu items are french so thereβs lotsa copying and pasting straight from Terraβs website going on in this post We started out our evening with a cocktail and salmon pΓ’tΓ©.
We ordered the L’Assiette de Prosciutto, Mozzarella et Artichaut GrillΓ© Γ‘ la Reduction de Vinaigre de Balsamic (mozzarella, prosciutto and artichoke with balsamic reduction) for an appetizer. I loved this!
It was tough to decide on an entrΓ©e because they had so many dishes that looked amazing. One of their specials was snapper and I almost ordered thatβ¦ but I *always* order fish and wanted to try something different! I ended up ordering the CoΜtes d’Agneau aΜ l’Ail et Romarin sur Risotto de Champignons (lamb chops over mushroom risotto). This meal was ah-mazing. Like, I wished I had 5 of them.
K got the Steak au “Poivreβ (steak ). The steak was cooked to perfection and those french fries were completely out of this world. I may or may not have stolen a few. or 5. or 10.
The restaurant surprised us with a special anniversary dessert dish, which I believe was a mango sorbet, strawberry gelatin and chocolate mousse. The owner was super sweet and came to our table to wish us a happy anniversary.
Everything was so good and I would recommend Terra to anyone in the Charlotte area! The best part about the restaurant is that itβs on Providence Rd., so itβs out of the hustle and bustle of Uptown.
I just mainly lounged around for the rest of the weekend. On Sunday, Lily and I watched the season premiere of the Real Housewives of Atlanta. We are both shamefully addicted to Bravo shows.
Did you do anything fun this weekend?
Have a great week!
I love special fancy dinners. There is something great about how restaurants present meals. No matter how hard I work to cook a meal, whenever I dish things up, it looks sloppy on my plate. Each of these dishes looks fantastic! I wish I lived nearby so that I could try ALL of ’em! :)
I agree!! There’s also something extra special about not having to clean up the fancy dinner :)
happy anniversary!
Thank you! :)
