Hey guys! Happy Thanksgiving!
So… I just got out of bed
I was originally planning on going to my grandmother’s for the day, which is what I’ve done every Thanksgiving since I can remember, but at the last minute I decided to stay home this year. I would have had to make the 5 hour drive up and back in the same day, and I would rather go when I can spend more time with my grandmother. I will miss seeing everyone but hope to make a trip to VA sometime in December or January.
On the bright side, this is the first year I can watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! I’ve always been in the car on Thanksgiving morning and I can’t remember the last time I watched it. I’m just hanging out with some coffee and slow cooker baked apples in front of the TV.
It’s really strange to not be with my family on Thanksgiving but I have been running on E lately, so it’s kind of nice to just have the day to relax and get some rest. I’m hoping on going on a walk later and then taking a bubble bath.
The funny thing about the change of plans is that I have nothing to cook for Thanksgiving dinner! Need to figure that one out soon or else I may end up with a Thanksgiving sandwich
But on to the meaning of Thanksgiving…. I have so much to be thankful for this year because I started 2014 by passing my RD exam and was able to switch careers to a field that I have greatly enjoyed so far. And working in a hospital has really put life into perspective for me. Just having good health, a roof over my head and a loving family is really a blessing that I sometimes take for granted.
I hope you all have a great day!!!
