Good morning and Happy Monday!
I hope we have all recovered from our turkey-induced food coma. I cannot believe it’s already December!!!! Where has this year gone?
I had a nice and relaxing weekend, which is exactly what I needed after a bit of a busy work schedule and other things that have been going on the past few weeks.
I stayed up late Friday night watching the VT vs. UVA game. I was afraid we may lose to UVA for the first time in 11 years after a less-than-stellar season, but we managed to hang on and pulled out a win! Go Hokies!
I am trying to maintain some level of activity even though I can’t run or cycle right now, so I went for a nice 2-mile walk on Saturday morning. The weather is starting to get chilly in North Carolina and this served as a reminder that I need to get some pants/tights that are more appropriate for colder weather. If you have any recommendations, please let me know!
I spent Saturday afternoon with my sister, who stopped in Charlotte while traveling from Virginia to South Carolina!
We got lunch and decided to join in on the Small Business Saturday fun. We stopped by one of the local running stores near me to check out their sales. Too bad I’m still dealing with an injury because they were having 10% off of all of their shoes. Tempting! A lot of customers seemed to be taking advantage of that when we were there.
The store was having a sale on Balega running socks and I ended up getting 4 pairs. Their Hidden Comfort socks are my absolute favorite, and I try to buy a few pair whenever I can get a good deal on them.
Okay, time to get this Monday started…
Here are some plans for this week:
- Swim once or twice (the pool was closed last week for maintenance)
- Hopefully complete all of my Christmas shopping
- Make travel plans to drive up to Virginia and visit my grandmother
- Continue with some sort of walking routine since that doesn’t seem to bother my knee
- Go to see my new orthopedic doctor this afternoon! I’m kind of nervous but also optimistic. Keep your fingers crossed for meeeeee.
December is also a time when I notoriously fall off of the bandwagon when it comes to eating well, so I’m trying to be proactive about it this year. I have today off (I’m working this weekend) so I’m headed to the grocery store to stock up on healthy food options to keep both at home and at work. Hope you have a great week!!
Did you do anything fun this weekend?
If you participated in Small Business Saturday, what did you purchase?
Are you buying anything for Cyber Monday?
I love balega socks!! I need to find them on sale :)
Check your local running store! I think the Buy 3, Get 1 Free sale was a Balega promotion because several other people told me their LRS had the same sale. I also sometimes see them at TJMaxx but they never have them in my size.
Hi Sam! I found your gorgeous blog through another site I was reading and I wanted to come and say HI! It looks like you had a great weekend and I love that you spent time with your sis.
xxoo
Kris
Thanks for stopping by! :)
You and your sister are beautiful! <3
Balega socks are the ONLY socks I will run in. Must. Find. On. Sale.
