Happy Hump Day! I hope everyone up north is hanging in there. If you need something to entertain you then please watch this video.
I love Bruno Mars. He seems so fun. I wait for this song to come on the radio every morning on my drive to work and it puts me in the best mood.
So I wanted to share two new things I’ve tried this week. The first is a broiled grapefruit.
I saw one of these guys come across my instagram a few days ago and I knew I had to try it. I almost always have a bag of grapefruit in my fridge during the winter, so I’m all for trying different ways to prep (and cook?) them.
I just sliced this one and broiled it in the oven for about 15 minutes. I sat both halves in a muffin tin to hold them up and it worked really well.
I had no idea what to expect this to taste like, but I ended up liking it! I thought the broiling decreased some of the tartness of the grapefruit. A lot of recipes I saw suggested sprinkling the grapefruit with sugar first so that it would caramelize under the broiler, but I decided to skip that step. I still thought it tasted great…. a nice warm food item to have on a cold day.
Another new thing I tried this week was Indian food! Okay, so this isn’t exactly the first time I’ve *ever* tried Indian food…. once I went to an Indian lunch buffet and tried everything. But then I didn’t know what anything was and left feeling very overwhelmed.
A Persis Biryani opened near us a while ago and I drive by all the time. I always think I should eat there, and I finally stopped by after work one day. I spent a lot of time looking at the menu and finally asked the waiter for his recommendation. I told him I wanted a chicken dish that wasn’t too spicy.
To be completely honest, I don’t even remember the name of this dish but it was awesome. So always go with what the waiter recommends! The side of garlic naan was sooooo good. I loved it! I will definitely be back sometime
Have you tried anything new/fun lately?
Anyone snowed in right now?
Have a great day everyone!
