Hey there! Hope your Thursday is treating you well so far. Random thoughts for this afternoon:
I have been so uninspired to write blog posts this week. I have my 4-week post op recap coming to you tomorrow but to sum things up: going back to work has been really rough and I’m currently in survival mode.
Thankfully, I have today off so I’m trying hard to take it easy. I started the day with physical therapy.
Then I had to go grocery shopping. I went to Aldi but forgot my own bags! Rookie mistake.
And stopped by the Panera drive-thru on the way home. I got the greek salad with chicken and a sprouted grain roll on the side.
My lunch company included two little
vultures dogs (you can see how swollen my left knee is lately).
Stay tuned tomorrow for a full update about what’s going on with my knee!
Exciting news: my friend Carly has launched a new wedding magazine called Catalyst that breaks through the stereotypical ideals of wedding planning. I love the thought that a wedding should be about the love between two people rather than stressing out about the production of the day. The magazine was featured on Yahoo today and I’m so proud of her!!!
Here’s a picture of us together from several years ago… back when she worked for Gloria Steinem. Yes, that Gloria Steinem.
Changing the subject…let’s talk about my dog, also known as the poster child for why you should get pet insurance. You may remember back in the fall that I had to take her to the emergency vet twice for blood in her urine, which ended up being a UTI. Well, two more UTIs later and I decided to have her urine sent to a lab to be cultured for the specific bacteria. This costs a small fortune, but obviously the antibiotics she had been on were not completely getting rid of the infection.
Turns out she had a resistant strain of e. coli in her urine. She finished 2 weeks of a new antibiotic and her latest culture just came back clear. Hallelujah!
Except now she has a cyst in her ear that has to be surgically removed. Jesus, take the wheel.
That’s it for today. Thanks to Running with Spoons for hosting a Thinking Out Loud link-up today!
If you could go back in time and change anything about your wedding, what would it be and why? I think it would have been nice to just elope
