So I really sucked at posting last week. Sorry about that. I had an epic meltdown on Wednesday involving my D paperwork (sorry, can’t even say the word), which culminated in a sheriff’s deputy at the local courthouse telling me I should really think hard about it next time if I decide to ever get married again. Didn’t know I’d get such great life advice while walking through a metal detector. Good times.
So yeah, it was one of those “please let me make it to Friday” weeks. Lots of naps and wine were involved. Thankfully, I had a relaxing weekend and it’s all good in the hood today.
I mainly just wanted to share something awesome that happened last night: I went on 6.5ish mile bike ride. I’ve had several new orthopedic issues come up in the past few weeks, which I plan on posting about soon, so the fact that I was able to tolerate such a long ride completely blew my mind. I think my instagram post pretty much sums it up:
It was just what I needed to start this week
I didn’t even recognize myself last night, but I prepped a few lunches for this week, did all my laundry, cleaned the kitchen and got dinner ready to pop in the crock pot this morning. Dinner is super simple: sliced peppers and mushrooms with garlic and italian seasoning topped with chicken. I did all of the vegetable prep and got things set up in the crock pot last night, and I added a jar of tomato sauce before I left for work. I’ve got it cooking on low for 6 hours. It took a little bit of extra time last night but it will be nice to have that dish available for lunch/dinner leftovers for the next few days.
Hope you have a great Monday!
What did you do this weekend?
I’d like to punch that deputy in the face for you. What a complete and total jerk!
I also cleaned my house and prepped for the week. It’s such a great feeling – I really need to remember it :)
I don’t normally condone violence but if you wanted to punch him in the face then I probably wouldn’t try to stop you. Cleaning your house is an amazing feeling, although for me it’s usually short-lived :)
So glad you had a great bike ride! And way to move on from a bad week- this one is definitely going to be better!
Definitely!
So glad that you were able to get in a really good bike ride after a tough week. What a jerk of a deputy to be so insensitive. I hope that he is not married because his partner would be dealing with a real ass on a daily basis!
He did have on a wedding ring!!! I’m sure he’s really fun to deal with at home ;)
Productive starts the week make all the difference! Hoping this week is a little less hectic for you!
Thanks, Kate :)
That’s so incredibly insensitive of that deputy. They already know that it’s a tough situation, and to go and make it worse is lacking the sense to being a decent human being. Terrible. I’m sorry! I’m glad you’re good now though! Your dinner sounds amazing. Veggies and tomato sauce, simple, but such a tasty combo!! :)
Yeah, I wondered if the guys realized how insensitive he was being. Oh well. Dinner was great!!
