BlueSky Planner Review and Giveaway

There are many things about me that are well-documented here in this blog, one of which is my extreme love for paper planners. I know we are in the age of technology but I am a paper planner girl for life. So I was extremely excited when I was contacted to do a review on a few BlueSky planners for you guys.

You may notice that I don’t do a lot of product reviews here. That is because I do not review anything that I don’t love and/or believe in (ex: the many supplements I get contacted about). But a paper planner? I’m in. Especially because I already enjoy BlueSky products. Check out my fridge

BlueSky planners can be purchased at Target or nationwide from their website. They are small, appear to be durable and come in many pretty designs and colors. I was sent 3 different planners from the BlueSky line to review, each of which is unique in its own way.

Planner #1: Senn & Sons for BlueSky

The first thing that stood out to me about the Senn & Sons planner is the look. The leather like cover adds a professional touch while the color is still fun and feminine. The book is bound (instead of using a spiral binding) and has a ribbon in the middle to use as a bookmark. The planner includes both monthly and weekly calendars, as well as sections in the back for X, Y and Z.

• Size: 5” x 8”
• Year: Academic (July 2015 – June 2016)
• Sections in the back for contacts and notes

Planner #2: Day Designer 10×8 for BlueSky

The Day Designer for BlueSky 10×8 planner is perfect for someone who primarily uses a planner to stay on a schedule. It has your usual calendar as a monthly view, but the weekly layout is what makes this planner unique.

The weekly layout divides each day up by time, from 7am-7pm. This planner could even be used as an appointment book.

• Size: 10” x 8”
• “Essential info” section in the back for doctor info, contacts, traveling checklists, and grocery checklists
• Notes pages in the back as well

Planner #3: 5×8 Day Designer for BlueSky

If I were to pick a favorite planner out of this bunch, the Day Designer for Blue Sky 5×8 planner would be it. This planner is small (5” x 8”) with a durable cover and gold coil. It includes a weekly and monthly layout.

The reason I like this planner so much is because on the weekly layout, each day includes vertical bullets. This is perfect for a to-do list, errands, chores, etc. I actually use my planner to make lists so this would be perfect for me.

• Year: Academic (July 2015-June 2016)

BlueSky Products

In addition to planner, BlueSky also makes notebooks, binders, clipboards and other business supplies. Everything is inexpensive and comes in fun designs/colors. I frequently have to talk myself out of buying them in Target as I am an office supply junky! The calendar on my fridge was purchased from Target earlier this year.

BlueSky vs. Erin Condren

You guys know how much I love my Erin Condren planner. When I was contacted to do this review, I didn’t want to seem insincere by recommending another planner. So I felt it would only be fair to compare the two. However, once I actually received the planners, I realized that you really cannot compare the two because they are so different. Here are some differences I thought I would point out:

• Price: BlueSky is much cheaper than Erin Condren. You could buy several BS planners for the price of 1 EC planner.
• Quality: Erin Condren wins here with the sturdier coil and thicker pages. *However*, I don’t think it’s even fair to compare the two because you would obviously expect better quality if a planner is going to be $50!
• Look: This depends on what you want in a planner. I personally think the Senn & Sons looks the most professional… you could carry it into a business meeting. I like that BlueSky has some simple yet colorful designs as well as some more intricate designs. Erin Condren planners can be customized, which is fun too.
• Availability: BlueSky can be purchased at Target. Not only is this more convenient, but you don’t have to pay shipping costs. I have seen that EC is moving towards selling products in Staples but I don’t know if the planners will be sold there.
• Layout: BlueSky has more layouts, so if you are picky then I would check out their options. I also enjoy the Erin Condren layout. Again, completely depends on your personal preference!

I think I hit the most important things. I couldn’t recommend one over the other.
