Hey guys! Happy first day of fall. I feel bad for all of the hating I did on fall a few weeks ago because I am loving this crisp weather.
I have turned over a new leaf in so many ways recently, so it seems almost fitting that today is the first day of fall. The changing of the seasons always feels like a fresh start to me, and here are some things Iโd like to pay special attention to this fall:
Not acquiring anymore orthopedic injuries: apparently this is difficult for me. Iโve definitely been warned that I need to slow things down again whenever I get out of this boot and I am taking that advice to heart.
Drink enough water: I have to remind myself to drink water in the fall and winter when Iโm not out in the heat.
Try new recipes: I love to cook and I love trying new things, so Iโm not sure why I always cook the same things over and over again. I already get Clean Eating Magazine, but if you have any other recipe suggestions then Iโd love to hear them!
Continue to shop at the farmerโs market: We still have a few farmerโs markets going on this fall. Instead of purchasing my usual favs from the grocery store, Iโd like to shift to purchasing seasonal items from the farmers. Sad story: the other week I woke up late and didnโt make it out to the FM. Later that afternoon I went to Aldi, and guess who I saw? One of the farmers! He asked me where I was that morning and I felt so awful to be standing there with a cart full of produce.
Finish my office: Itโs actually almost finishedโฆ just need to hang a few pictures and find a chair for my desk!
Plan a trip to VA: Hoping to make it up there in October. So many friends and family I have not seen enough this year!
Do you have anything specific youโd like to focus on this fall?
If you have any new recipe recommendations then Iโd love them!
I bet the trip to VA is so pretty this time of year. Taking a trip back home will be a great morale booster.
I highly recommend Gimme Some Oven’s skinny fetticinue Alfredo.
I will have to check out that recipe. Thanks! The drive back to VA is very scenic and beautiful. I love all of the trees changing color!
Can I first just say that your site is adorable?! I’m so excited to be getting more seasonal items from farmers markets!
Well thanks, Chelsea!
Yes, get back into shape. My dad died almost 2 years ago and I was so heart broken, I kinda just stopped caring about diet and excise. I am now walking 3 miles 4 times a week and doing a 30 days squat challenge!
I like trying new recipes too. :)

I’m so sorry to hear about your dad. My father passed away when I was younger and I understand what you mean about feeling heart broken. I’m sure your dad would want you to be happy and healthy, though, so your goals sound like some good ones! Happy fall :)
Fall is my favorite time of year! I especially love fall on the East Coast. Where in VA are you going to visit?
My goal this fall is to keep a healthy school/life balance.
I am going to go through my hometown in Southwest VA and then head to northern VA to visit family. My grandmother lives about an hour outside of DC. It should be fun! A healthy school/life balance sounds like an excellent goal. Good luck with this semester!
