Hey guys! I just wanted to check in and say hello before we all get busy with the hustle and bustle of Christmas. Can you believe Friday will be Christmas Day and then the holidays will be over? I love this time of year so much and it’s always a little sad when it’s over.
THANK YOU to everyone who has signed up for my FREE New Year’s Nutrition Challenge. I’m really excited about it. Stay tuned next week for the official details. It starts the Monday after New Year’s and it’s not too late to sign up!!
Here’s what’s been going on with me lately…
Loving: the new Trek Top Fuel Women’s Mountain Bike
I’m still dreaming about the day when I upgrade my mountain bike… but I need to actually be able to physically ride my bike first Maybe 2016 will be my year? I had previously been disappointed in Trek’s women’s full suspension mountain bike options, but I stopped by the bike shop the other day and saw that they really stepped up their game with the 2016 models. They now have women’s versions of their popular men’s bikes instead of just having a “women’s only” line.
North Carolina has some great mountain biking options. Can’t wait til I am back on my bikes!
Watching: On Saturday, I went and saw Amy Schumer at the TWC Arena. I was honestly kind of bummed about the show. There was a very strict policy about no cell phones- texting, photos, videos, etc. The security people enforcing those rules were scary! Amy was only on for an hour and half of her material was stuff she has said before, like on Saturday night live. I kind of thought she should have had material that was just specific to her tour.
Listening to: The new Cam album, Untamed. I love her! Her most popular song right now is burning house but I like the whole album.
Reading: My friend let me borrow a copy of a book called Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear. She gave me this book when I was talking about all of the different nutrition-related projects I was too scared to pursue. The book is about embracing your creativity and letting go of fear. I will be sure to post a review when I’m finished but I think this is a great book for bloggers.
Focused on: All sort of blog things for 2016! My goal for this upcoming year is to be a lot more organized… follow through with using an editorial calendar, get my photos together and provide quality content that will share my passion for food and nutrition.
Putting off: Scheduling my appt to get my crown after my root canal. Hey, at least I went through with the root canal, right?
Craving: Pizza. I’m a good dietitian.
Anticipating: Getting back in the gym. I’ve been putting it off because I’m afraid of getting hurt again.
Enjoying: Christmas music!
That’s it for today. Feel free to share anything (or everything!) in the comments below:

Bloggers: are you working on anything special for 2016?
If you didn’t crave pizza, I don’t think I could trust you as an RD ;) Just kidding! I really wanted to go see Amy Schumer – what a bummer that the show wasn’t that great. Happy Holidays, Sam!
We joke at work about our love for indulging… Every now and then, right?
Awwww, what a bummer about Amy Schumer.
I’m excited to see what blog things you have in store for 2016!
I know, I was disappointed!!
I am listening to all the Christmas music! :)
Loving all the snow we have been getting this past months. It’s definitely going to be a very white Christmas in Central Oregon.
If you already went through with the root canal, the crown will be a piece of cake. Trust me! They won’t even need to numb you because you have no nerves left. No nerves = no pain. :) P.S. I have had a few root canals in my time and know this all too well.
I am jealous! It’s supposed to be in the 70s here. I like the mild weather but it’d be nice to have some colder weather over the holidays! Thanks for the tip about the crown :)
