Hey guys. I promise you I have not fallen off of the face of the earth, although it definitely feels like that in terms of the blogging world!
Things have kind of been crazy town from having surgery over the new year. It set me behind at work and then I had to go to TX for a conference. To make matters worse, my car was stolen this weekend! Thereβs a crazy story behind it but I canβt really share the deets right now. I will when I can, though.
Life experiencesβ¦ Iβm getting lots of them these days. Actually, if the big man upstairs is reading this, I think Iβm good on life experiences for now.
But anyway, we have a lot of catching up to do!
Post-Op Update
I had my 3 week follow-up with my doctor and he said Iβm doing really well. He cleared me to begin exercise again but stressed that I need to start out slow and donβt overdo it. Iβm so happy that I can put my health issues behind me and get back into the things I love and that make me happy Except for that my Brooks Adrenalines were in my stolen carβ¦
My procedure was laparoscopic and my scope sites are still a little tender. I also still feel kind of tired and run down, which I think is a combination of getting over anesthesia for a week or so, going back to work so soon and uncomfortable sleep (I miss my stomach sleeping!). So Iβm just going to listen to my body and hold off on hitting the gym until Iβm feeling a little better. But Iβm excited to have the go-ahead when Iβm ready!
When Real Life and Blogging World Unite
I went to TX for a work trip and it dawned on me while I was down there that Lora (aka Crazy Running Girl) lives there! We were able to get together for dinner and she was awesome!
NFC Champs
PANTHERS ARE GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL!
We won the NFC championship on Sunday! I went to the game and it was funβ¦ but super cold. I bundled up with 4 layersβ¦ didnβt care that I felt like the little boy in A Christmas Story. I am such a fan that I filed a police report for my stolen car and immediately took the light rail to the game. #keeppounding
I feel like I have missed out so much on the blog world these past few weeks!
Tell me something cool that has been going on with you!
Any tips for beginning workouts after coming back from an injury?
Any car shopping advice?! I need this badly!!
That sucks that your car was stolen!! Hope it all works out.
Loving those Brooks :) I need a new pair….can’t decide whether or not I should go back to asics.
Nooo!! I’m sorry your car was stolen! I have to admit, I’m a Seahawks fan so I’m not suuuuuper excited about Carolina beating us but I’m happy your team is going! That’s amazing that you went to the championship :)
I feel like the team has worked hard to get to this point and it has been fun to see the city rally around them. I’m excited! But sorry about your Seahawks :(
Your car was stolen!? What a nightmare. I hope it all works out in the long run.
Kudos to you for listening to your body and holding off on exercise until you are feeling better. I am always super tempted to rush back into training as soon as I can, even when I know it is not the smartest choice.
PS: Sorry I’m a bit behind on checking in on the New Year’s challenge! Vacation definitely derailed me, but I have been working hard on my veggies this week!
It’s okay! Check in when you can :)
Your car story is completely nutso!
I hope your insurance will also cover replacing your awesome new shoes. So sad they were also stolen.
I’m a Broncos fan, so I’m suuuuuper pumped for Feb 7 :)
Insurance informed me they will not cover any of the contents of the vehicle. That would include my ray ban, north face jacket, brooks and a whole list of other things that I’m embarrassed to admit that i left in the car. I have to go thru homeowners but I think with me deductible, it’s not worth filing.
When my friend had items stolen OUT of her car she went through renters insurance and eventually got it all back- I can’t believe your car was stolen- that’s crazy and I’m so sorry to hear that!
You just cannot catch a break! Although getting cleared to start exercising is really great news.
I know, I’m excited and my PT said it should be cool for me to start cycling. Whoop!
