Hey friends!
It has been a while since we just chatted and caught up. So I thought this post was long overdue!
B and I are chugging along with planning our spring wedding. I can’t believe it’s only a few months away! We want to keep things fairly non-traditional and aren’t too concerned with smaller details, but planning has honestly been a little stressful. We also just now finished booking up all of our vendors, which is considered to be really late planning in our area.
We booked our photographer back in August and finally got around to taking our engagement photos the week of Christmas. I love how they turned out. I was wondering if shooting them would feel awkward but we ended up having a lot of fun!
The photographer was also great about getting some photos of Lily.
Update on the Pup
Speaking of Lily, she has done surprisingly well since her surgery in December to fix her knee and remove a tumor. I am so thankful that her recovery has been fairly smooth and that her tumor was benign. I think her new hashtag in life is #stillkickinit.
The worst part of her recovery has been trying to stop her from running and keeping her fairly calm. Home girl doesn’t like the doorbell and sprints to the door when she hears it :)
Work
So, something interesting so far in 2018: I just found out last week that my PRN job will not be using PRN help as of right now. My hours had been variable there but that job made up almost 1/2 of my income ever since I left my FT job. So this unexpected news was a little, ahem, scary.
I thought about sharing how I’m trying to turn a seemingly negative situation into something positive, but my business coaching group says that doing stuff like that makes you seem unrelatable. So I’ll just say that I drank a lot of vino last week and I’m ready to get back to trying to be the most badass full-time dietitian business owner out there :)
Hope you have a lovely rest of the week!
Have you ever been let go from a job?Β
Ever done a professional photography session? Did your photographer have you yell out curse words to make you laugh? Ours did!
I know it’s gotta be scary to be “let go” from your PRN job…but last year I was teaching full time & then over the summer they basically lost a teaching unit & I was the most recently hired so…you know how that goes! I began working full time with my husband on our farm/business and it has been one of the best things ever for me! I’m not perpetually stressed all the time & at first the dip in our income was scary, but now we’ve been able to branch out into new things & we’ve made up a lot of that lost income-it’s a good thing! You’re going to rock full time dietician!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I do feel like I was really stressed and working way too much before, so I hope this will end up being a positive situation for me.
