Welcome to the last episode of season 1 of the podcast!
In this episode, we’re discussing how to go into the holiday season while maintaining a healthy relationship with food and your body.

The holiday seasons can play a role in the diet cycle. Have you ever intentionally drank more alcohol or drastically changed your eating habits in November and December because you knew you’d be “starting over” in January? If you answered yes, then don’t feel bad! This is really common.
We see statistically that a large majority of people don’t actually stick with New Year’s resolutions past the first few weeks in January, and this can continue the diet cycle.
Sam begins the episode by discussing how the holidays can actually be a great barometer for understanding where you’re at when it comes to the diet mentality. Desserts, special holiday foods, and alcohol are usually more plentiful in November and December, and you can observe how you react to this.
Sam then moves in to discussing some holiday diet culture that always comes up this time of year – the advice to think about the “BLTs” and the need to register for holiday races like Turkey Trots for the sole purpose of trying to compensate for holiday meals.
In this episode, Sam also discusses:
- How to center taking care of yourself
- Mindset tips as you go into the holiday seasons
- How to evaluate your relationship with alcohol during the holidays
- Whether you need holiday boundaries around diet talk
